Job Title: International Sales and Marketing Assistant

Roles and responsibilities

As part of a small team promoting Norton’s list in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia, the International Sales and Marketing Assistant provides key administrative support to the international trade team. Working with office systems and programmes, this includes:

·      Uploading new titles to amazon Advantage, checking the details, and updating with reviews and enhancing entries with A+. Regularly checking amazon stock levels and working on cases for stock replenishment. Handling rights infringements. Accessing Kindle data. Creating and monitoring ads

·      Using NewZapp to create email blasts

·      Updating our database with trade copy and reviews to be fed via Onix to our UK website and to Nielsen Book Data. Working to remedy any issues

·      Assisting in maintaining UK website

·      Gathering text, covers and metadata from database for seasonal lists; checking and proofreading marketing materials

·      Editing text and producing TI sheets and helping produce seasonal and subject catalogues

·      Producing ARCs from files supplied from US

·      Preparing spreadsheets and title submission grids for select accounts

·      Helping maintain bookseller mailing list, and creating and maintaining specific title lists

·      Producing seasonal order forms, highlight sheets and other sales materials

·      Researching events, anniversaries and exhibitions

·      Researching strategies for bi-annual planning meetings and key titles meetings

·      Updating office with sales figures

·      Preparing books for display and ordering stand equipment for book fairs

·      Completing bi-annual The Bookseller Buyer’s Guide submissions for key titles

·      Sometimes selling books directly at events; arranging for supply and return of books to events

·      Communicating with booksellers and from time-to-time handling sales enquiries

·      Arranging the mailing of printed material via mailing houses, and sending out ARCs and advance copies to booksellers

·      Occasionally producing advertisements for wholesaler/bookseller promotions

·      Helping with general office duties, especially in Office Manager’s absence

Ideal skills, qualities and interests

·      Excellent attention to detail and good copywriting skills

·      Efficient, organised and able to prioritise a varied workload

·      Strong communication skills

·      Confident and Enthusiastic

·      Creative, with experience using InDesign, Canva and Photoshop (desired but not essential)

·      Good IT skills, with an aptitude for quickly mastering a variety of systems
