Job Title: International Sales and Marketing Assistant

Reports To: Head of International Marketing

Location: Central London office with 2 homeworking days per week

Position: Full Time

Closing Date: 5th July 2024

Responsible For: Working as part of a small team to support the delivery of campaigns to promote awareness of Norton textbooks and courseware to academics across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Providing key administrative support to the international college department. Additionally, responsible for inside sales activities, including engaging with potential and existing customers to drive sales, and managing customer relationships.

From our London office, we market and sell the lists to the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Marketing outreach - assist the Marketing Manager in the planning and implementation of marketing campaigns including e-campaigns, webinars, and marketing reviews etc.
  • Designing marketing collateral – handouts, brochures, sales tools for the Academic Consultants and freelance reps to use in sales meetings and presentations.
  • Inside Sales Outreach – progress new sales opportunities by following up with inbound leads, and e- campaign responses, to move opportunities through the pipeline.
  • Digital product support – promoting Norton’s teaching and learning tools to adopters and takeaway opportunities in territories not covered by field Academic Consultants.   
  • Ebook code generation – managing the code creations for trials, Wiley stock, website stock, customer service issues, VitalSource eBook codes.
  • Market research - Carrying out extensive research on course opportunities, lecturer information and competitor texts to enrich our data and increase sales outreach.
  • Customer service - Taking ownership of and managing the customer service email inbox, the sampling process, and instructor resource approval - ensuring all queries are dealt with promptly.
  • CRM – ensuring Salesforce is kept up to date with contact information and sales opportunity data.
  • Metadata/ website management – Assist the marketing manager with the maintenance and data quality of product information, ensuring the metadata/pricing information is accurate and feeding correctly.

The ideal candidate has the following skills, qualities, and interests:

  • An interest in higher education, with a desire to promote texts across many disciplines and an interest in the rapidly developing world of educational technology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good copywriting skills.
  • Efficient, organised and able to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Confident and Enthusiastic.
  • Creative with experience using InDesign, Photohop, Canva (desired but not essential).
  • IT skills, with an aptitude for quickly mastering a variety of systems/CRM.
